Just an Update

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a great week.
I am only making this post due to having some success with my camera :)

I have been doing some research on my camera manual today & I have learnt a few different techniques that I thought I could try.  So I re-took some photo's of a card that I designed - Dance Like Nobody is Watching - that I posted here on my blog a few weeks ago.  I thought you might like to see the difference :)

This is the 'old' picture

These are the new pictures

What do you think?  Heaps better?

My advice to those that are having problems with getting their images to look better is to grab the manual to your camera, a cup of coffee & have a read.  Then play with its settings & practice to see what works better for you.  Even though I found settings that work better with mine, I still need alot of practice..but I'm getting there :)  Oh, I also had some help with Photoshop :)

Thanks for visiting.
I'll be adding more tomorrow

Home Tweet Home Scrappin' Photo Canvas

Hello again :)
It's been a few weeks since my last post & quite a few good things have happened.

I have accomplished a few goals...the first being that I got my business name registered :) Woo Hoo!
I also purchased my website space and I am currently waiting on my first wholesale order to arrive :)
It will be here tomorrow.  I have also designed my website header, which took me a few days but I finally got it done & looking the way I wanted it to :)

I bought myself a sewing machine which I got on discount & saved myself $100.  Oh, the fun I'm having trying to use the damn thing lol. I've never used a sewing machine before, well I did way back all those years ago at High School, but never on design paper. However, I am determined to conquer it & use it to its best potential.  It has 14 different stitches, two threads/needles, pink & it can even go into reverse lol. It made me jump when I put my foot on the peddle for the first time lol. So needless to say, if any of you have any advice, tips or tricks on scrapbook/card sewing please feel free to tell me as much as you can :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

My next goal is to make another wholesale order this week & to design my website background. Another goal is to design the front page of the website & decorate it with lots of candy give-aways to all of you & your friends :) So feel free to either sign up for my blog updates or become a follower.Totally up to you of course but I wouldn't want you to miss out.  Besides, why wouldn't you want to know all my updates anyway? lol  Anyway, onto my designs & creations :)

Do you remember this little tweety bird of mine?
He was on my Home Tweet Home a few weeks ago.  However, now he has a total new make-over. He has new eyes, a better hair do..lol and he's isn't sooo glitzed up as before.  His eyes are a bit googly but he looks kinda unique, don't ya think? lol  I call him Funky Bird lol.  Yes, I gave him a name lol.

Do you remember the birdhouse that I paper pieced?

Well, I kind of made four of them :)  Only because I've had the idea of selling them on Ebay & now have opened a little shop on Etsy.  As they say, you can't have too many eggs in one basket lol.  So anyway, this is one of the creations that I have put together with the new bird & the new birdhouse :)

I had to give Funky Bird a better & more colourful environment :)

Not only that, but I had to provide a photo mat where someone could place a 6x4" inch photograph of that someone special or even a photo of their home.

I decided to go ahead & create this one on a canvas.  It has ribbon attached so that it can placed & hooked easily on someone's wall.  I figure, rather than getting those photo's out of the box & putting them into an album that only comes out once in a while too, why not have your photo's on the wall whilst still being presented with the scrappin' concept & better yet, for everyone to see the photo's on a daily basis :)

Of course, I have entered this one into the following challenges :)
Friday Sketchers - #108 - Sketch (looked at upside down)

Creative Inspirations - #37 - Paper Piecing
